Styles that inform my teaching: I have been practicing and teaching yoga for over 45 years, starting one of the first studios in the Twin Cities, the Minneapolis Yoga Workshop, in 1979. I have made 3 trips to India to study with BKS Iyengar, and am a certified Iyengar teacher. I have also trained in the Raja Yoga, Vipassana and Vajrayana meditation traditions.
Why I teach yoga: My mission is to support others in developing conscious, nonviolent, and compassionate lives. By integrating the body, breath, and mind through yoga postures, deep relaxation and meditation, I aim to help provide the tools and skills to open hearts, discover self-care, and improve well-being. I train and mentor teachers and dedicated students on the path of yoga.
What to expect from classes with me: I offer a joyful exploration of the body, heart and mind, integrating posture and breath with concentration. I'll meet you where you're at, and we'll explore from there. Each class includes meditation.
When Iām not teaching yoga, you can find me: Biking and hiking the North Shore!
