Styles that inform and inspire me: Hatha, Vinyasa, Bhakti, Karma, & Raja yoga

Why I teach yoga: I am eternally grateful to my teachers for guiding me through healing, de-conditioning, and growth on my spiritual journey. These wise folks have inspired me to become a teacher and be of service to others on their own journeys. My intention is to foster a safe and supportive environment to tap into the deep well of wisdom that resides within and connect to the unity underlying all life.

Why I practice: I was initially drawn to yoga during a period filled with immense suffering. Yoga became therapeutic; it was (and still is) a way to cope with trauma and find a still safe place grounded within. Since then, my practice evolved from a self-care activity into a way of life. It encourages me to continuously return to a place of love, acceptance, and service for all beings everywhere.

What to expect from classes with me: You can expect a challenging, yet approachable, asana sequence with a balance between activation and rest. We will flow at a moderate pace- linking breath to movement, and I encourage students to feel empowered and honor the wisdom of their own body. I aim to build strength and stability, teach about pranayama and the other aspects of the practice, and help you find what feels good!

When I’m not teaching you can find me: Outside! I love gardening, hiking, swimming, and foraging for wild mushrooms. I am also a singer songwriter so I spend a lot of freetime listening to, writing, practicing, and performing music and poetry! I study French and Spanish, I love to read, and my favorite way to spend an evening is drinking homemade kombucha on my porch with my partner and our sweet cat, Daisy! 😺
