Styles that inform my teaching: From 1998 - 2010 I was trained in Anusara Yoga, a style that integrates the biomechanics of alignment with a heart-centered devotional approach to yoga. I am currently inspired by William Prottengeier, who teaches in the Iyengar yoga tradition, and Sarahjoy Marsh, a dear friend and teacher from Portland, Oregon. Life experiences inform my teaching the most. My meditation teacher is Youngey Mingyur Rinpoche of the Tibetan Buddhist, Kagyu lineage.

Why I practice and teach yoga: I teach and practice yoga as a means to reduce suffering and bring peace to an often times convoluted world. In a time when many seek fulfillment from outside of themselves, I invite students to practice yoga to feel more resourced from within and to hold a greater capacity for love, kindness, patience and generosity.

What to expect from classes with me: Expect a dynamic and engaging practice that involves moving with the breath, strength building and guided meditation. I love to weave basic philosophical teachings into the physical practice.

When Iā€™m not teaching yoga, you can find me: You can often find me walking around the neighborhood with my dog, Ruby. I thoroughly enjoy swimming and continue to work on refining my strokes. An ideal vacation is in the BWCA, canoeing, exploring, relaxing in nature. I'm grateful to share my days with my wife and business partner, Nora, who has become a rock (huge support) for the yoga studio.
