He is owner of Big River Yoga and is also a healer, specializing in Thai Massage and leads Thai Massage Trainings in the twin cites and beyond. Chris is also a certified health and wellness coach and offers empathic support to his clients. Chris delights in his meditation practice and enjoys bicycling and swimming and walking his dog, Ruby. In classes, Chris applies the ancient philosophy of yoga to everyday life. He is passionate about teaching, clear, down to earth and reverent.

Gretchen Fellon

Gretchen felt a pull to yoga for its ability to nurture the body, mind, and spirit in a compassionate, loving way. She found her way to the Colorado Eldorado Mountain Ashram where she studied Shambhava Hatha Yoga and has been teaching since 2003. As a mother of two, Gretchen's yoga practice serves as a retreat from the day-to-day; an opportunity to indulge in self-care and self-love. Her classes encourage turning inward to allow your inner light to shine and your inner wisdom to guide. When we are in union with our natural state, we live a life of balance and harmony, free from negativity and dis-ease. She brings intention, passion, and big love to her yoga practice and encourages her students to do the same.

Stephanie Mauceri

Steph is a native New Yorker who relocated to The Twin Cities in November 2009. She has been practicing Yoga since 1991 and teaching since 2003. Her first teaching certification was from OM Yoga NYC with additional studies/certifications in Prenatal Yoga, Yin Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Yoga for Children, and Anatomy for Yoga Teachers.

Although initially beginning her Yoga practice in the Ashtanga and Vinyasa traditions, she was in a car accident in 2004 and this caused her to reestablish her practice as more of a restorative and rehabilitative modality. Steph's classroom teaching style especially blends Vinyasa and Iyengar techniques with a strong emphasis on anatomy and kinesiology.

She is also a writer, proud mom of healthy fraternal twin boys-- born in 2010, and starting in summer 2015 will begin coursework towards a masters degree in Integrative Health Coaching.

Kayla Williams

Kayla loves yoga for its ability to connect us to our full experience in the present moment. She completed her 200 hour training in March of 2016 and her advanced 300 hour training in May of 2018 both from Yoga Center Minneapolis. She teaches yoga with a focus of self-awareness and encourages students to tune into their inner wisdom in and outside of the studio. Kayla is also a mental health therapist and sees yoga as a powerful practice for well-being. You will often find Kayla enjoying the outdoors in whichever way the season calls (running, climbing, skiing, you name it!), or snuggling on the couch with her cat and dog.

Nora Gordon

Nora loves to take life by the reins and is passionate about health; believing our bodies have unsurpassed wisdom. She supports a sustainable model of health through food, lifestyle, spirituality and holistic medicine. Nora holds a Masters in Public Health Nutrition from the University of Minnesota and currently works to improve health equity and food justice in Minneapolis. Additionally, she is a 200hr certified yoga instructor from Big River's Yoga for Conscious Living Program and she has studied health coaching, Ayurveda and holistic nutrition sciences. Often, you can find Nora on her mat at Big River Yoga, riding her bicycle, enjoying the outdoors, getting creative in the kitchen or sipping a cup of chai tea.

Mary Bue

Mary Bue is a registered yoga teacher (e-RYT 500), an indie musician, and a teacher in the Viniyoga tradition. Viniyoga is a breath-centered, flowing practice that believes in adapting postures to fit the whole person (not forcing a person to fit into a posture!). Mary received her certification at Whole Life Yoga in Seattle, WA by Tracy Weber (student of Gary Kraftsow, student of T.K.V. Desikachar) and her 300 hour from Yoga Center Retreat (formerly Yoga Center Minneapolis). She is also trained in prenatal yoga, yoga for anxiety & depression, pranayama, and trauma-informed yoga. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota – Duluth. She founded and ran Imbue Yoga Studio in the Corcoran neighborhood of Minneapolis for nearly 3 years.

When she's not making music or teaching yoga, Mary enjoys running (10 half and 2 full marathons), writing, painting cow portraits, being in nature, and cooking vegan food. For more about Mary’s music, please check out marybue.com.

Ideal for those new to yoga. Build a solid foundation for a safe and joyful yoga practice.
